Speak Up for Arctic Wilderness

Will you speak up for the Arctic Refuge? Please sign our letter to Secretary Salazar.

For the past 50 years, our country has remained committed to protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as one of our last wild places. This year, Secretary Salazar will make some big decisions about the future of the refuge. If we all speak out, we can make sure that those decisions offer it the strongest possible protections from oil drilling and other dirty, industrial development.

This historic opportunity to protect the polar bears, grizzly bears, wolves, musk oxen, birds and other priceless wildlife of the Arctic Refuge comes not a moment too soon. Arctic species are being pushed to the breaking point by global warming that is leading to melting sea ice, thawing permafrost, rising oceans and drying lakes. Arctic species like the iconic polar bear are losing their habitat at an alarming rate. At the same time, oil companies are pushing harder than ever to drill in the refuge.

Please sign our letter to Secretary Salazar asking him to protect this entire national treasure as wilderness.
