Speak Up for Washington's Wolves

Join the Center for Biological Diversity on Friday, Aug. 2 to Defend Washington's Wolves

Gray wolf

Help protect Washington's wolves and the plan that has been instrumental in bringing them this far in their recovery.

In late July the Center for Biological Diversity and our allies petitioned Washington to make the states Wolf Conservation and Management Plan legally enforceable. But instead the Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission is considering proposals that will hurt wolves.

Please join our West Coast Wolf Organizer, Amaroq Weiss, at a hearing in Olympia this Friday, Aug. 2 to voice your concerns.

Here are a few guidelines if you would like to testify:

    • Please arrive early -- this agenda item is scheduled for 3:15 p.m., but the agenda can be changed by the commission. Arrive by 12:45 p.m. at the latest.
    • You need to complete a "public testimony" form prior to the start of the discussion of that agenda item.
    • Time is limited to give everyone a fair opportunity to be heard -- you will have 3 minutes. Your testimony time can't be given to another speaker.
    • If you prepare written materials for the commission, please give 13 copies to the commission representative when you sign in to speak. Summarize written materials rather than reading them.
    • Address the commission and the issues, not other speakers or staff.
    • Be considerate -- limit your comments to new issues. If you agree with a point another speaker makes, simply acknowledge that and move on.
