You're Invited: Public Lands Defense Workshop, July 24

Lake Tahoe, Calif.

You're invited to participate in a free workshop on defending public lands on July 24 in Sonora. Earlier this year the Center released Public Lands Enemies, a report identifying the 15 federal lawmakers most responsible for driving efforts to seize, destroy and privatize our public lands. Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Calif., 4th District)  landed at #14 on that list.

In response to attacks on national monuments and other public lands, we must actively resist efforts by Rep. McClintock and others to liquidate our natural and cultural heritage to line the pockets of their corporate friends.

So the Center has partnered with the El Dorado Chapter of the California Native Plant Society and El Dorado Progressives to provide a public lands defense workshop, free of charge. Participants will learn about the public lands seizure movement and receive training on how to fight back; the workshop will last about 1.5 hours and free food and drinks will be provided.

What: Public Lands Defense Workshop
