Join the Center's Clean Air Cities Campaign
The equation is simple: If we want clean air and a healthy climate, we have to cut greenhouse gas pollution. This goes beyond changing light bulbs and riding your bike to work. We need our national leaders to finally address climate change powerfully and start making significant reductions in greenhouse gases before it's too late.
You can work with the Center for Biological Diversity and other Clean Air Advocates in your community to urge your city council to pass a resolution in support of our current best hope for curbing greenhouse gas pollution in the United States -- the Clean Air Act.
The Clean Air Act is under attack from the fossil fuel industry. Meanwhile, the EPA has been slow in implementing the Act to address the pressing challenge we face. The Center's new Clean Air Cities campaign is calling on cities around the country to support and push the Obama administration and the EPA to use the Clean Air Act to reduce carbon in our atmosphere to no more than 350 parts per million, the level scientists say is needed to avoid catastrophic climate change.
We'll provide you with all the materials you need, connect you with others in your community and support you each step of the way. Together, our cities can send a strong message to Washington for clean air and a survivable climate.
