An enormous amount of energy is wasted every day. In the United States, nearly 60 percent of the energy used for electricity is lost before it even reaches our homes, where even more is wasted through leaks and other inefficiencies. All that lost energy tends to go unnoticed even though it's a significant contributor to the climate crisis.
How can you help prevent energy waste? You don't need to read in the dark, as Ed suggests in the Center for Biological Diversity's public service announcement. There are better ways to cut down on wasted energy to slash your utility bills and your carbon footprint.
