Center for Biological Diversity

Dear Center Supporter,

Vermont

Summer's here, freeing us up to spend longer days in Vermont's magnificent outdoors.

And it's crucial we keep that great outdoors safe, not only for people but for the animals and plants that make these places indispensable. To volunteer to defend them in your own way, click here. There are toxins in our environment that could harm people -- including dangerous pesticides -- that are also known to hurt hundreds of endangered species across the United States.

The Center for Biological Diversity is working hard to make sure the Environmental Protection Agency regulates and reduces the impact of pesticides on vulnerable species and the natural resources we all need. In Vermont, the Indiana bat -- a federally protected species -- is threatened with extinction from habitat destruction, disease and environmental contaminants, including known pesticides. While the Indiana bat is just one species, its story is common to hundreds more.

The Center is completely dedicated to this cause, but we need your help to get the message out: Volunteers can spread the word that the Endangered Species Act is a vital tool to reduce pesticides, protect wildlife and safeguard human health.

If you're interested in getting more involved in species protection, click here to take a survey to determine the best way you can help. Please take a moment to join the Center as a voice for controlling pesticides and protecting our wildlife.
